The Longest Drive
Long drive is simple… who can hit the ball the farthest.
The Grid
We aren’t just looking for the longest ball… No more than 60 yards wide, the ball must land in the grid and stay in the grid.
The Equipment
All competitors must use USGA, R&A, and LDG conforming equipment, legal for play in any sanctioned golf event.
The Athlete
Long Drivers come in all shapes and sizes. Although many are large and muscular, it’s about speed, not strength.
The Distance
Female Long Drivers hit distances of 350+ yards. Male Long Drivers routinely hit distances of 400+ yards.
The Speed
Athletes can produce extreme clubhead speeds of over 160 MPH and ball speeds of over 240 MPH.
The Science
Brute force or parametric acceleration… there are multiple ways to drive the ball down range and maximize distance.
